New Primary Care Office Open at NCH
A new primary care office was unveiled today at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, a space that is the new home for the practices of Dr. Diane Pearl and Dr. Jock Lawrason.
Formerly the location of the hospital’s physical therapy department, the new space has been completely renovated to better serve patients and allow staff to operate efficiently and cooperatively. The initiative will also allow the hospital to expand its specialty clinics area, increasing the number and frequency of visits by physician specialists from the mainland.
The new primary care office was designed with the assistance of Michael Molinar, the owner of Flowers on Chestnut, who donated his time and talent to the effort. It features improved patient rooms, furniture and waiting areas, as well as all new equipment.
Dr. Pearl, who opened her internal medicine practice on Nantucket in 1990, will be relocating from her longtime office on the Vesper Lane side of the hospital campus. Dr. Lawrason, who serves as the hospital’s chief medical officer, hospitalist physician and pulmonary medicine consultant, will also see his primary care patients in the new office.
Both Dr. Pearl and Dr. Lawrason, along with their staff members, moved into the new space on Monday, June 15.
This project was made possible by the generous donations of the Hospital Thrift Shop, as well as a bequest from the estate of the late Katherine Lodge.
